Dear Editor:
I have recently visited your Fashion
Plateau website and read your most current article Dripping Wet by your regular correspondent abouttime. Whilst this was an admirably
written commentary, I fear that your colonist's predisposition to a certain untamed beauty may have detracted from the piece's
overall integrity!
I would like to point out several
vital omissions:
In More that Human
how could abouttime point out Veronica's gratuitous shower, without mentioning, the fact that all our gutsy explorers took
the plunge and partook in a revolutionary new spa technique - the 'whirlpool'? Including
dear Arthur 'where are the women' Summerlee (he said it did wonders for his hip!) The
Whirlpool was introduced to them by a very health conscious T-Rex!
It is also somewhat remiss to
exclude the many occasions Miss Krux - water babe that she is - has taken more civilized baths and showers - indoors. For example The Beast Within where she enjoyed a relaxing
bubble and bath and Fire in the Sky, where aided by Roxton, Marguerite bravely, was the first explorer
to use the shower and treat us to her dulcet vocal tones. Not only is Marguerite
extremely hygienic - often taking time out to strip down to her camisole to wash in a bowl or a stream, she has also developed
it into an effective luring method. Be it for luring amorous Lords or dopey Egyptian
guards!
Our manly explorers have also
dabbled with aqua aerobics; who could forget The Pirate's Curse? During this incident our luscious
Lord Roxton introduced the tropical forest princess (I was surprised at this omission) to his pioneering cliff diving technique! Also not to be forgotten is Ned Malone's unfortunate, interrupted, underwater breathing
demonstration! If he had succeeded in completing this exercise we would have
all learnt how to increase our lung capacity, thus allowing us to distribute oxygen to the main organs of the body more effectively
during recreational activities. Luckily first Marguerite in The Travelers
and then Lord Roxton in The Knife went on to commendably exhibit this somewhat controversial procedure. You may also remember Professor Summerlee, Veronica and Roxton attempted a similar
technique in Birthright using straws!
If your journalist had not been
so preoccupied with his golden goddess's alter ego - Violet -in DMH he may have also noticed Miss
'the Mermaid' Krux a.k.a Maylene and Lord Roxton going on to develop his innovative cliff-plunging talents to the next level! It is not only a superb danger avoidance tactic but also a fabulous lower body
workout!
I would like to take this
opportunity to draw attention to our very own health-aware Lord. The groundbreaking
nobleman was, as we know, the first of our adventurers (barring Professor 'persistent buggers' Summerlee) to attempt the diving
into water fitness regime, which he discovered in BATG. Benefits
include weight loss and mid stream haircuts!
Lord Roxton is also a positive influence on his companions, in particular the nubile heiress. Who could overlook the way he encouraged her to go for a dip in the inland sea? Not forgetting his mud bath suggestion and of course his communal bathing proposal to finish the treatment!
Naturally it was Lord Roxton who discovered the benefits of cane toad warts for the skin and I would also like to point
out to abouttime that it was our handsome hero who introduced Veronica to the advantages of honey when applied liberally to
the skin!
I would be grateful if you could
pass these observations on to the article's author as I feel it is vital that the Fashion Plateau continues to maintain its
non-biased standpoint.
Yours truly,
