Stylish Men

The male explorers strike a delicate balance between adapting to the more carefree style of the Plateau, while at the same time staying true to the more uptight dress code of the Western world.

Especially the older members of the expedition, Professor Challenger and Professor Summerlee, are taking great pains in being dressed properly. Challenger is often wearing a full suit including vest, thus showing clearly that true fashion sense can easily overcome minor obstacles like heat and humidity.
Upper body nudity - a standard look with the Zanga - is only seen in combination with hard physical labor or exercise programs.

Hats are a favorite among the explorers, with the exception of Ned Malone, who so far has not been seen wearing a hat. Why Malone does not wear a hat is unclear. He certainly looks very good wearing one, as was confirmed by Lord John Roxton when he recounted his adventures in the Old West, in particular his fight against an evil alter ego of Malone.
